RepairLink Dealer: Hiding Part Numbers from Shops / Disabling a Trading Partner (Administrators Only)

KB Article #4109

Trading Partners are users that added your dealership as a supplier in RepairLink Shop--giving them the ability to search your inventory for parts. When parts are added to the cart, the user has access to detailed parts information--including part numbers.

Note: These changes will impact International/IC Bus buyers differently.  View RepairLink Dealer: Hiding Part Information from International Buyers for more information.

RepairLink's Shop Access Controls gives you the ability to gauge shop activity and limit parts information presented to specific repair shops.

  • The Cart Details graph provides a quick view into the number of carts the shop has not submitted (Abandoned Carts) versus the number of orders you have received (Order Submitted) over the last four weeks. Notes
    • A graph will only display if the shop has abandoned carts or placed orders within the past 30 days.
    • The graph will only display details from the past 30 days and will not include information from outside that time frame.
  • Use the Cart Details graph to make an informed decision on how you want to limit a shop's access to your parts data--hide part numbers or disable the shop--using the Trading Partner Status option.

Refer to the detailed information below to learn how you can control what the shop does or does not see if you configure the Trading Partner Status with one of the options below.

Notes:

  • In accordance with manufacturers' requirements, part numbers do not display in RepairLink Shop search results or illustrations (illustrations display reference-only callout numbers). They are only available in the cart details for confirmation before sending an order to a dealer.
  • Heavy Duty RepairLink dealers can currently only hide part numbers from a user's shopping cart.

  1. Hide Part Number From Shop
    • When a shop adds a part to a cart, the part number is displayed in the shopping cart if the default setting, Enable this shop as a trading partner, is selected as the Trading Partner Status in RepairLink Dealer.

    • If the administrator changes the Trading Partner Status to Hide part number from shop, the user will see a "Call Dealer" message instead of the actual part number in the RepairLink Shop cart.

  2. Disable the Trading Partner Account
    • RepairLink allows shops--including those that may be outside your local delivery area--to find and add your dealership as a supplier. Once you add them as a trading partner in RepairLink Dealer, the shop has the ability to access your inventory to search for parts.
    • If you want to remove access to your inventory and no longer do business with a shop, an administrator can disable the trading partner relationship by changing the Trading Partner Status to Disable this shop as a trading partner.

    • If you choose to enable the trading partner account again, your dealership will automatically be added back into the shop's supplier list. Additionally, any saved carts that the shop had not sent prior to being disabled will be restored.
