Committing to a MarketplaceDirect Order

KB Article #2219

Customer orders can be processed and ready for shipping in minutes with MarketplaceDirect.

Important:

  • Cancellations: eBay only allows 2% of your orders to be canceled, late, returned, or defective. Please do everything you can and work with your buyer to fulfill every transaction possible.
    • If you exceed 2% canceled, late, returned, or defective orders for three consecutive months, eBay will restrict and possibly disable you from selling on eBay.
    • If you still need to cancel, click here for more information.
  • Taxes: You do not have to collect taxes yourself. eBay charges and collects tax from your buyers, calculates which state tax is applicable, charges it to your buyer, and then pays it to the respective state. Your invoices will show that you collected and paid taxes to the respective states, but eBay does this on your behalf. For more information, reach out to eBay directly:

To commit to an order:

  1. New orders arrive on the MarketplaceDirect Overview. Double-click on the order to process.
  2. From the Order Details window, click Submit/Commit on the orders that you wish to fill or click Cancel Order on orders that you are unable to process. (Click here for more information on canceling an order.)
