Creating a Parts List with the D2DLink Parts List Manager

KB Article #3203

D2DLink allows you to use lists to automatically determine when to apply discounts, exclude discounts, or prevent parts in your inventory from being available to other dealers. These lists can be created or edited at any time by clicking the Parts List Manager option.

If a part is on multiple lists, Parts List Manager will apply list functionality in the following order:

Underneath the Parts List Manager grid (which will contain your existing parts lists), click the Create Parts List for drop-down, select the type of list you wish to create, and then click Create List. Click the links below to view step-by-step instructions for creating a specific type of list. Note: Items listed within this drop-down will vary based on your OEC subscription.

  • Discount on D2DLink Locator: Create a list of parts that will have a cost minus discount when displaying on the Locator.
  • Protected Parts: Create a list of parts that will never display on the D2DLink Locator.  Note: A protected part is not the same as a discount excluded part. Protected parts will not display on the Locator. Discount excluded parts will display on the Locator, but will not be discounted. (Click here for more information on creating a Discount Excluded Parts list.)

Additionally, dealers across the country are using Parts List Manager to help move more parts off their shelves. In talking to these dealers, here are examples of commonly created lists that you can use as starting points to building your own lists. Click the links below to view step-by-step instructions for creating each type of list.

Notes:

  • Parts List Manager recognizes both spaces and commas as characters that separate two different items. If a dealer has a space or a comma that is part of their Bin Location or DMS Source ID, Parts List Manager won't be able to recognize that as a valid ID. If a dealer has this issue, they will need to create a manual list of all the parts in that Bin or Source and upload that list into Parts List Manager.
  • Manual uploads are limited to 20,000 parts at a time.
  • Changes on Parts List Manger should reflect right away, but it may take several minutes for changes to reflect on the D2DLink Locator.
