Configuring ConsumerLink Basic Notifications

ConsumerLink will send you an email alert when a new order is created or when an order is canceled. The Configure Notifications option allows you to customize these notifications. Note: ConsumerLink Setup options can only be accessed by the ConsumerLink Administrator.  


Tip: In addition to email notifications, ConsumerLink also shows an on-screen, real-time notification when you receive a new order. (This notification is automatically displayed and is not configurable.) Hover your mouse over the notification to view a summary of the new orders.

  • Click on a New order from ... summary link to instantly view the order details. 
    -or-  
  • Click View All ... New Orders to display your new orders on the ConsumerLink tab.

To set up email notifications:    

  1. From the ConsumerLink tab, click ConsumerLink Setup.  
  2. Click the I want to: drop-down and select Configure Notifications.

  3. Select your OEM from the OEM drop-down.  
  4. Click OK to display the notification configuration fields.     
  5. Click Create New.  
  6. Under E-mail Delivery, type the Notification Name.

  7. Type the Email address(es) where you would like to receive notifications. Multiple email addresses can be separated with a semi-colon (;). Note: Email notifications can be sent to cell phones if you know the text-to-email address for the cell phone provider.  
  8. Under Available Events, click to check the event(s) for which you would like to receive notification.

  9. Next, under Delivery Hours click to check the days and times when you like to be notified.

  10. Make sure that the Enabled box is checked.

  11. Click Save. Repeat steps 6-10 for any additional notifications you wish to create.   

ConsumerLink Email Notifications    

Buyers:  

The following are the different email notifications that will be sent to the buyer at different stages of the order:

  1. Order Confirmation Email:  
    • Pickup Order for Registered ConsumerLink.com users
    • Pickup Order for ConsumerLink.com Guest users
    • Shipping Order for Registered ConsumerLink.com users
    • Shipping Order for ConsumerLink.com Guest users
  2. Order Complete:       
    • Pickup Order for Registered ConsumerLink.com users  
    • Pickup Order for Registered ConsumerLink.com users WITH Dealer Note  
    • Pickup Order for ConsumerLink.com Guest users  
    • Pickup Order for ConsumerLink.com Guest users - with Dealer Note  
    • Shipping Order for Registered ConsumerLink.com users - Actual Shipping  
    • Shipping Order for Registered ConsumerLink.com users - Actual Shipping - Tracking Number  
    • Shipping Order for Registered ConsumerLink.com users - Actual Shipping - with Dealer Note - Tracking Number

Sellers:  

Based on what is configured in the Notification Setup, the dealer can receive email notifications for the following events:

  • New orders  
  • Cancelled orders  
  • New notes from buyers

All emails will be sent from a ‘do not reply’ OEC (donotreply@oeconnection.com or similar). Both New and Cancelled orders will use the following template:
