Become a business seller on eBay by registering for a business account!
Using the process below, you can begin the process to create a business account and fill in some additional details. Once the account is created, you can set it up depending on your business type (sole proprietorship, single-member LLC, corporation/multi-member LLC, partnership, or publicly traded company).

- You have a legal entity if you:
- Registered your business with the government, as a corporation, partnership, limited liability company, charity, or other entity,
- Use a bank account in the name of a registered business for earnings from items sold on eBay, and
- Have an Employer Identification Number (EIN) for your business.
- If you are a U.S.-based seller with inventory outside the U.S., you may have additional tax obligations. (Learn more about possible tax obligations.)
- Be sure your bank account type matches your eBay account type. (For example, if you have a business bank account, make sure you register as a business seller.)
- You can update a personal account to a business account within the account settings.
- You have a legal entity if you:

Make sure you have the following information ready before creating your eBay business account:
- Stakeholder information (need to include beneficial owner of 25% or more):
- Date of Birth
- Last 4 of Social Security Number (SSN)
- Name and address
- Business EIN
- Bank account information:
- Routing number
- Bank account number
- Primary contact information and email address for customer questions
- Ability to verify microdeposit amounts in bank account
- Stakeholder information (need to include beneficial owner of 25% or more):
To register for an eBay business account:
- Using your Internet browser, access www.ebay.com.
- Click Register from the upper left.
- Choose Business.
- Enter your Business name and Business email address in the provided fields.
- Enter a Password in the provided field. Note: Click the
icon to show your password.
Passwords must have at least eight characters and include:
- A letter
- A number or symbol
- Choose the country where your business is registered from the drop-down.
- Note: If your business is not registered, choose your country of residence.
- When ready, click Create business account.
- Verify your email address using the security code.
- Check your email for a six digit security code.
- Copy and paste or type in the digits and click Verify.
- Enter your phone number and click Continue.
- Note: This phone must be able to receive text messages.
- Verify your phone number using the security code.
- Check your text messages for a six digit security code.
- Type in the digits and click Verify.
- Once verified, your business account will be created. Enter a Username if desired and click Continue.
- To sign in using your email address only, click Skip.
- You will be prompted to sign in to your account. Enter your Email address or Username in the field and click Continue.
- Enter your Password in the provided field and click Sign in.
- Note: If you saved your password in your browser settings, this will prefill.
- Click an option below to continue the appropriate process:
- Corporation/multi-member LLC: A business entity - registered with a state - that is owned by one or more shareholders or stockholders (in the case of a corporation) or more than one member (in the case of an LLC)
- Partnership: Two or more people operating under a written or unwritten partnership agreement
- Public traded company: A company whose shares of stock are listed on any nationally recognized stock exchange
- Single-member LLC (Limited Liability Company): A business entity - registered with a state - that is owned by one member
- Sole proprietorship: One person operating under their own name, a fictitious business name (DBA), or the name of a non-registered business.

- Choose Registered business from the options.
- Choose Corporation/multi-member LLC from the business type drop-down and click Continue.
- In the Business profile section, fill in the details matching your business license:
- The Legal business name will prefill.
- If applicable, fill in the Doing Business As field.
- Enter the Employer ID Number (EIN) in the provided field.
- In the Business address section, fill in your business address matching your business license.
- In the Contact information section, your phone number will prefill.
- When ready, click Continue.
- Verify your phone number with a text message or phone call.
- Choose Text or Call.
- Click Text me or Call me.
- If text, enter the security code.
- In the Primary Contact section of the Contact and Stakeholders page:
- Fill in the primary contact's legal name (first, middle, and last, as it appears on government-issued ID) in the provided fields.
- Enter the contact's Date of birth and Last 4 digits of SSN or ITIN in the provided fields.
- The Nationality drop-down should prefill. Update if necessary.
- Fill in the contact's legal residence in the provided fields, including country or region.
- Check the box(es) for all applicable Role(s) with company.
Options include:- Primary Contact: Authorized to manage this eBay account and can serve as the primary point of contact.
- Beneficial owner: Directly or indirectly owns 25% or more equity interest in your company (such as shares or voting rights), or has substantial control.
- Director: Legally responsible for your business records, accounts, and performance.
- Fill in the primary contact's legal name (first, middle, and last, as it appears on government-issued ID) in the provided fields.
- When ready, click Continue.
- The primary contact displays.
- To add more stakeholders, click Add and provide their information (repeating the process above).
- When ready, click Continue.
- At least one beneficial owner must be listed. If not listed, a prompt will display to add one.
- To add the beneficial owner:
- Click Add another person to return to the previous screen and add them as a stakeholder.
- To use an existing stakeholder:
- Check the box of a listed stakeholder to mark them as a beneficial owner.
- Click Update and continue.
- This returns you to the previous screen to show the update was made. Click Continue.
- To add the beneficial owner:
- At least one beneficial owner must be listed. If not listed, a prompt will display to add one.
- Within Payout Information, choose Bank Account as your payment method and click Continue.
- Connect your bank account:
- Choose your bank from the list of options. (Use the search bar to find it quickly.)
- A prompt displays to connect your bank account. Click to continue and follow the prompts to sign in.
- When finished, click Continue.
- Choose your bank from the list of options. (Use the search bar to find it quickly.)
- If your bank is not listed, connect your bank account manually:
- Place your cursor in the search bar and use the scroll bar on the right side to scroll to the bottom of the list.
- Click Enter account details.
- Enter your Routing number and Account number (twice) into the provided fields.
- Choose Business - Checking from the Account type drop-down.
- When ready, click Continue.
- Place your cursor in the search bar and use the scroll bar on the right side to scroll to the bottom of the list.
- Review your business, contact, and payout details.
- Click the
icon in any section to make changes.
- Click the
- When ready, click Submit.
- Choose Registered business from the options.

- Choose Partnership from the business type drop-down.
- In the Business profile section, fill in the details matching your business license:
- The Legal business name will prefill.
- If applicable, fill in the Doing Business As field.

- Partner: Co-owner responsible for business records, accounts, and performance. If they own 25% or more of your company, also select Beneficial owner.
- Fill in the primary contact's legal name (first, middle, and last, as it appears on government-issued ID) in the provided fields.
- When ready, click Continue.
- The primary contact displays.
- To add more stakeholders, click Add and provide their information (repeating the process above).
- When ready, click Continue.
- At least one beneficial owner must be listed. If not listed, a prompt will display to add one.
- To add the beneficial owner:
- Click Add another person to return to the previous screen and add them as a stakeholder.
- To use an existing stakeholder:
- Check the box of a listed stakeholder to mark them as a beneficial owner.

- If your bank is not listed, connect your bank account manually:
- Place your cursor in the search bar and use the scroll bar on the right side to scroll to the bottom of the list.
- Click Enter account details.
- Enter your Routing number and Account number (twice) into the provided fields.
- Choose Business - Checking from the Account type drop-down.
- When ready, click Continue.
- Place your cursor in the search bar and use the scroll bar on the right side to scroll to the bottom of the list.
- Review your business, contact, and payout details.
- Click the

- Choose Registered business from the options.

- In the Stock information section:
- Confirm the Country/region of Stock Exchange is correct.
- Choose the correct Stock exchange from the drop-down menu.
- Enter the Stock symbol in the provided field.
- In the Business profile section, fill in the details matching your business license:
- The Legal business name will prefill.
- If applicable, fill in the Doing Business As field.
- Enter the Employer ID Number (EIN) in the provided field.
- In the Business address section, fill in your business address matching your business license.
- In the Contact information section, your phone number will prefill.
- When ready, click Continue.
- Verify your phone number with a text message or phone call.
- Choose Text or Call.
- Click Text me or Call me.
- If text, enter the security code.
