CAPTCHA in D2D Express

KB Article #7989

At times, the D2D Express application experiences performance issues impacting the entire dealer network. These issues are sometimes caused by rapid increases in traffic from automation, bots, or malware. To protect the integrity of D2D Express, we are implementing a CAPTCHA during login.

What is a CAPTCHA?

A CAPTCHA is a short test a user must complete to continue using an application. The test makes sure you are a human user to protect websites from spam and bots that can steal your password and affect the performance of the application.

How will the CAPTCHA work?

The majority of dealers will feel no impact from this change. The CAPTCHA is triggered if a dealer account sends requests to D2D Express 100 times within 1 minute. Once they get through the CAPTCHA pop-up, they can interact with the system again.

If the system continues to receive traffic at a high pace after the CAPTCHA and exceeds 200 requests per minute, the dealer will experience a random time-out for anywhere between 10 and 30 minutes. Once the timeout has expired, dealers can access the application again. Normal day-to-day operations will not trigger the CAPTCHA or the time out.

How can you avoid the CAPTCHA?

  • Ensure your PC is free of any malware
  • Do not utilize any automation to access D2D Express
