D2DLink and D2D Express Frequently Asked Questions: Kia Mexico

KB Article #7971

What is D2D Express, and why should dealers use it?

D2D Express accelerates the coverage of orders in backorder in critical situations for the customer. These programs use Kia's dealer network to locate parts in backorder so dealers can repair vehicles and provide solutions to their customers faster.

How does D2D Express work?

When a part is listed as back-ordered without an ETA, it is moved through the D2D Express system. These orders are sent to dealers across the country who have these parts available in stock. The dealer with the part available accepts the request and completes the order with DHL-integrated shipping.

  • How do I enroll in D2DLink and D2D Express?

Prior to the national launch, OEC sent out an enrollment quote to the contact on file. For any dealer not enrolled by National Launch, an email to support@oeconnection.com can help them get enrolled.

Must I enroll in both D2DLink and D2D Express?

D2DLink is the engine that powers D2D Express. When a dealer becomes active in D2DLink, OEC collects and uses the dealer's inventory data to match potential dealers with backorder requests. Dealers cannot receive any orders in D2D Express without D2DLink.

  • When logging into a new account, there are built-in tutorials to guide users through the OEC setup and explain how to use key features.

How can dealers manage, add, or delete users in D2D Express?

Dealers can go to Application Setup>Manage Users to manage users.

How can dealers reset their OEC Dealer Portal login password?

There is a link to reset your password on the Dealer Portal login screen. If additional assistance is needed, please reach out to support@oeconnection.com.

  • How long does a selling dealer have to complete an open order?

It is important that dealers who accept opportunities also finish fulfilling the order by shipping the part. All orders must be committed and confirmed with a created DHL label on the same day. Orders not completed by 6:00 P.M. MCT will be automatically canceled by the system. Once the order is canceled, it cannot be undone. The dealer will need to submit a new request for the part.

Do I still need to process with DHL tracking information if the part will be a will call?

Yes. The part sale must be completed via the process in D2D Express to ensure proper payment and backordered part record keeping. Note: Mobis and KMX will cover logistics costs, so no additional costs should be included in the price.

Will DHL automatically pick up my orders scheduled in D2D Express?

If a selling dealer already has a pick-up schedule with DHL, DHL will be able to pick up and process their D2D Express orders. If a selling dealer does not already have a pick-up schedule, they will need to contact DHL to schedule a pick-up for their D2D Express orders.

If there is a problem with DHL size limitations when creating a shipping label, the selling dealer should contact support@oeconnection.com.

  • How is the price determined?

The sale price of the N/P classified as obsolete is the same with which it was acquired from Mobis Mexico.

Should the cost of shipping the parts be added in?

No. Mobis and KMX will cover logistics costs, so no additional costs should be included in the price.

How will the selling dealer receive payment?

The selling dealer must reach out to the buying dealer to arrange payment.

How long does the selling dealer have to pay and ship the sold parts?

Payment must be arranged per KMX policy within 2 hours of committing to sell the part. Committed parts must be shipped promptly to prevent customer delays, even without committed payment by the buying dealer.

Example of the D2D Express Process

    Distributor A (Buying Dealer):

    1. It has a backorder without ETA.
    2. Through the D2D Express system, these orders are sent in backorder to several distributors that have the parts available to process these orders.
    3. It is contacted by Distributor B to agree on the payment method in 2 hours or less.

    Distributor B (Selling Dealer):

    1. Receives opportunities available in his inventory through D2D Express.
    2. Accepts the requested order if they want to sell the piece.
    3. Generates DHL label.
    4. DHL collects the part at the Distributor's premises.
    5. Distributor B contacts Distributor A to agree on the payment method and generates the invoice in the name of Distributor A.
  • Who does the selling dealer contact if the buying dealer does not submit payment?

Who does the buying dealer contact if the selling dealer does not ship the sold parts?

Who does a KMX buying or selling dealer contact regarding other questions about debit fees, payments, credit, shipping damages, or exceptions?
